TRAINING:  Subject:  Xing Yi Stomping Fist -- One change I have made in my teaching is a slight variation in stomping fist and comes from examination of classical postures and extant teachers.  The beginning, the turns, and the ending remain unchanged.  From your left Pi Quan beginning, step up, punch right, and stomp with the right foot close to the left foot (no change).  Then, as you rub and punch with the left fist, thrust forward and follow step into a standard  "San Ti" Xing Yi stance.  Then, take a short step up with the left, stomp up close and punch right.  Repeat the thrust and punch into the longer stance, etc., etc.  These are called "open" and  "closed" positions and equate to the Yin and Yang aspects of the Five Elements postures.  Of course, I then also start over from the beginning and do a complete round of reverse style (right foot always advancing) exactly the same only mirror image.  Give it a try.  I think you'll like the feel of it.
